The details mentioned above are rough estimates for patient understanding.

Contrast: Ability to see clearly and differentiate objects in differing colour and light conditions of day and night.

Customization: Each eye is mapped in a unique way to improve quality of vision. The map includes your accurate spectacle number in 0.1 D steps, Higher order aberrations, Iris Registration and Pupil Centroid Shift Compensation.

Higher Order Aberration: Reduces quality of vision even when vision is 6/6 e.g. scattering of light from lamps, haloes, glare etc.

Aberrometry Wavescan: Detects spectacle number and higher order aberrations accurately.

CustomVue: Also known as Wavefront Guided LASIK. It not only treats spectacle number to achieve 6/6 vision but also improves quality and contrast of vision by removing higher order aberrations. This overall increases chances of achieving better than 6/6 or 20/20 vision.

Iris Registration: Unique identification marks for human beings are 1. Thumb impression. 2. Retinal mapping. 3. Iris (circle around the pupil which gives colour to the eye like brown, blue, green etc.) mapping. Eyeball rotates from sitting to lying down position. This also shifts your cylindrical axis and location of higher order aberrations. Due to iris registration this shift is recognized and treated accurately.

Pupil Centroid Shift Compensation: Pupillary constriction is not concentric but it moves towards the nose and upwards. This is also detected by the CustomVue software and improves efficacy of treatment

Mandatory requirements for CustomVue / Wavefront Guided LASIK treatment:

  • Precise measurement of your spectacle number.
  • Wavescan Aberrometry.
  • Iris Registration.
  • Pupil Centroid Shift Compensation.
